I was awarded my PhD by Keele University for research on ‘Parenting Stress in Recent Fathers’ in 2001 and received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Birmingham University in 2004.
I am a Chartered Psychologist, a full member of the British Psychological Society Division of Clinical Psychology (BPS) and am registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS).
Having worked for more than 25 years in the NHS, charity sector, education and independent practice, I have a wealth of experience and a proven track record of developing, delivering and managing highly effective services for children, young people and adults with a wide range of psychological difficulties.
In addition to my clinical and leadership experience, I am a qualified teacher in Higher Education and an Accredited Tutor with The Association for Psychological Therapies with experience of teaching and training students, trainees and professionals from a range of disciplines at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level.
I now work full time in independent practice providing psychological therapy to adults, clinical supervision and training in ACT to mental health professionals.
